Hop on a dragon boat and cruise to the Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue. Admire the seven-story pagoda, built in 1601, and learn about the history of Vietnamese Buddhism. Continue to the Imperial Citadel, the former home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty, the Nguyen Dynasty. Explore the complex of around 100 monuments in 520 hectares, including the working and private residence of 13 Emperors, concubines, and eunuchs. After your morning sightseeing, stop for lunch at a local restaurant and try some Hue specialties. Then, head to the Khai Dinh Tomb, the final resting place of the 12th Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Admire the fusion of Western and Eastern architectural styles and the intricate details and lavish decorations. Next, visit the Minh Mang Tomb, the final resting place of the 2nd King of the Nguyen Dynasty. Admire the tomb's landscape and oriental architecture.
