Central Post Office

Vietnam

Landmarks & Museums

Between 1886 and 1891, Gustave Eiffel designed and built this massive post office in Ho Chi Minh City. The outside reminds us of old European railway stations. The facade of the building is gorgeous and a full restoration was completed in early 2015, so it is just as beautiful as the day it was built! The post office is decorated with authentic designs and a big picture of 'Uncle Ho Chi Minh' overlooking the place.

From here you can send your postcards to your loved ones back home, but even if you have nothing to send you should stop by to admire this beautiful building. The interior is also worth checking out as it still has working phone booths and hand-painted maps of the city as it was in 1892.

It is right next to the Notre Dame Cathedral at the top of Dong Khoi street, so you cannot miss it!
